Savoury Green Smoothie

Throw all your greens into this smoothie and it will leave you feeling energised to get through your day. Well, at least until lunch time.

Ingredients

  • 2 celery stalks.
  • 3 cm knob ginger.
  • 3 cm knob turmeric, if available.
  • handful spinach leaves.
  • 1/2 large ripe avocado.
  • 1/2 capsicum (red, yellow or orange).
  • large handful parsley.
  • 1 lime.
  • large pinch Cayenne Pepper, or chilli powder or a dash of tabasco, optional.
  • pinch granulated stevia, or a few drops of liquid stevia (omit in weeks 2-5).
  • good grind salt.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds.
  • 2 cups coconut water, or plain water.
  • small handful icecubes.

Directions

1. Throw all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve.

Optional extras: fennel, celery leaves, fresh herbs, leftover greens.
