I Quit Sugar: Moroccan Hummus Recipe

A delicious Moroccan inspired hummus containing sweet rice malt syrup mixed with earthy turmeric and cumin for a little extra Middle Eastern flavour.

Preparation: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas.
  • 1 tablespoon rice malt syrup.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced.
  • 1 lemon, juiced.
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, ground.
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric, ground.
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped, plus extra to garnish.
  • sea salt, to season.
  • pinch smoked paprika, to serve.

Directions

1. Place all ingredients except coriander and salt in a food processor and process until combined and smooth.

2. Stir through coriander and season with salt. Sprinkle with extra coriander and a pinch of paprika to serve.
